The Galena Silver Copper Project was initially acquired in 2017 through staking targeting a series of high grade silver copper veins in the historic Santa Rosa mine area. Two historic Galena mines where subsequently acquired. Galena sits roughly at 4,200 meters elevation in the Santa Lucia district.
Galena is located 72 km southwest of Juliaca, approximately a 1.5-hour drive from Colt’s regional field office. The property benefits from excellent infrastructure, including good road access, available water resources, and a railway line that runs through the property and connects to the port of Matarani on the Pacific coast.
The Santa Lucía mining district is a vital metallogenic hub known for silver, copper, manganese, and polymetallic deposits. Historic and active polymettalic mines include Tacaza, Santa Bárbara, Berenguela and Santa Rosa. Pinaya is a porphyry copper gold development project.
Galena lies at the intersection of two prospective mineral belts: a southeast-trending porphyry copper belt and a northeast-trending silver-copper Carbonate Replacement Deposit (CRD) belt. Colt's inaugural drill program is targeting CRD mineralization.
Galena mineralization occurs as breccias and veins in Tacaza volcanics overlying Ayabacas limestone. The contact dips shallowly southwest near Lake Lagunillas.
Manganese is an important pathfinder at Galena and the local Santa Barbara and Berenguela CRD mines.
At the producing Tacaza and historic Santa Bárbara mines, high-grade copper-silver-lead-zinc veins are hosted within Miocene volcanic rocks of the Tacaza Formation. These veins overlie deeper silver-copper-manganese carbonate replacement mineralization, highlighting the potential for multiple styles of mineralization within the system.
Colt’s inaugural drill program will target near-surface, high-grade silver-copper mineralization hosted within the Tacaza volcanic rocks and the underlying Cretaceous Ayabacas limestone. The Ayabacas limestone also hosts Aftermath Silver’s Berenguela deposit, where silver-copper mineralization is exposed at surface, highlighting the potential for similar near-surface mineralization within Colt’s project area.
Colt has collected over 3,000 rock and soil samples, obtaining results from both commercial laboratory assays and portable X-ray fluorescence (XRF) units. By integrating these geochemical and geophysical data sets, the company has successfully identified near-surface Carbonate Replacement Deposit (CRD) targets that share characteristics with the historic Santa Barbara and Berenguela deposits in the CRD trend. The upcoming inaugural drilling program is designed exclusively to test these shallower CRD targets, where the deeper porphyry potential will remain untested.
To date geochemical sampling has confirmed high grade silver copper lead vein mineralization in the historically mined areas and large anomalous mineralized zones in the Gris and Verde zones:. Property-wide regional sampling is ongoing.
In 2026, Colt completed a high-resolution ground magnetic survey covering 112.53 line-kilometres and a gravity survey comprising 1,119 readings. Geophysical, geochemical and geological data have been integrated. Interpretation of these datasets has helped refine drill targets associated with high-priority CRD anomalies.
